Application of FINE Slewing Bearings in Swing Loaders

FINE Slewing bearings serve as the critical "load-bearing joints" enabling frame oscillation, steering, and heavy-load handling in swing loaders. Primarily integrated into the central swing articulation mechanism and rear axle oscillating suspension, they are engineered to withstand extreme working conditions—including heavy loads, impact shocks, vibration, and harsh terrain—making them indispensable for ensuring the machine’s mobility, stability, and operational efficiency.

1. Core Applications & Structural Functions
(1) Central Swing Articulation (Front-Rear Frame Connection)
Swing loaders replace traditional pin joints with single-row four-point contact ball or crossed cylindrical roller slewing bearings to link the front and rear frames.
  • Load Capacity: Simultaneously resists combined axial, radial, and overturning forces, absorbing multi-directional shocks from loading, steering, and rough terrain.
  • Swing Function: Enables ±15° to ±45° horizontal/vertical oscillation of the front frame relative to the rear, greatly enhancing maneuverability in confined spaces.
  • Structural Advantage: Flange-mounted rigid connection distributes stress evenly, eliminating premature wear, deformation, and fracture common to pin joints.
(2) Rear Axle Oscillating Frame (Drive Axle Suspension)
Medium-to-large models adopt a dual-slewing bearing design for the rear axle suspension.
  • Terrain Adaptability: Allows ±8° to ±12° free oscillation of the rear axle, ensuring constant four-wheel ground contact to maximize traction, avoid power loss, and reduce tire uneven wear.
  • Vibration Damping: Effectively absorbs road shocks, reduces frame vibration and body roll, enhancing stability and safety during heavy-duty travel and loading.

2. Selection & Performance Specifications
  • Preferred Types: Single-row four-point contact ball (Series 01), crossed cylindrical roller (Series 7); heavy-duty models use double-row ball or triple-row roller types.
  • Material & Heat Treatment: Forged 42CrMo / 50Mn rings; raceways induction hardened (HRC55–62) with soft-zone profiling for high load capacity, wear resistance, and fatigue life.
  • Sealing & Lubrication: Double-lip / composite seals (dust, water, and oil resistance) for harsh job sites; built-in lubrication grooves and grease fittings for easy maintenance.

3. Key Advantages
  • Superior Load & Impact Resistance: Meets combined loading demands of 5–16 ton swing loaders during heavy digging, full-load steering, and off-road travel.
  • High Reliability & Longevity: 3–5x longer service life vs. traditional joints; fewer failures, less downtime, lower maintenance costs.
  • Enhanced Maneuverability & Efficiency: Smooth oscillation, full traction, and stable operation boost productivity by 15–30% in rough conditions.
  • Wide Compatibility: Standard and custom designs fit wheeled/crawler swing loaders, LHDs, and underground mining equipment.
